NIGERIA @ 60 : PROBLEMS WE ARE FACING SINCE IT INDEPENDENCE

Independence Day (1 October 1960) is an official national holiday in Nigeria celebrated on the first of October. It marks Nigeria's proclamation of independence from British rule on 1 October 1960. So for this reason, Nigeria celebrates its independence on 1 October every year.

We will be highlighting the problems Nigeria has been facing since the Independence.

1. Bad leadership :- Nigeria has been ruled by dictators and inexperienced people. During the military regime, Nigeria was ruled by dictators who just want to loot the national treasure. During the civilian regime too, the country was ruled by inexperienced old men who know nothing about leadership or how rule a nation.

2. Religious Wars :- This is one of the major problem Nigeria has been facing. Nigeria is a country where there is freedom of religion, you can practice either Christianity, Islam or idol worshipping but a particular terrorist group called Boko Haram want the country to forcefully practice only one religion which is Islam, adopt the Sharia law and turn Nigeria to an Islamic country, so to achieve their aim, they wage war buy killing the citizens of the country. Too many atrocities like Killing, kidnapping of school girls and bombing has been committed by this terrorist group.

3. Insecurity :- There is high rate of kidnapping and robbery in Nigeria. Some years back, a billionaire kidnapper called "Evans" was into kidnapping till he was finally caught. It is said that he has kidnapped so many victims for so many years till he met his way.

4. Poor Health Facilities :-  The Government are to be blamed for poor health facilities in the country. Most hospitals in Nigeria lack the facilities needed because the government did get the necessary equipment an hospital should need so they can carry out their duties. In absent of the necessary equipment, citizens will have to travel abroad to get treatment in which would cost a lot of money and it only for those who can afford it. Those who can't afford the treatment abroad will be left to die.

5. Corruption :- Everyone knows Nigeria is a corrupt country, infact, it is one of the most corrupt country in the world
6. Poor Educational System :- Schools in Nigeria have poor educational system. There is infrastructure in most government school and the teachers are not paid on time. Strike do occur most of the time in which schools will be closed down if the government refuses to pay the teachers.

There are still a lot of problems Nigeria is facing but this few point I listed above are one of the common problems Nigeria is facing. I pray we will find a solution to all this problem so we can make Nigeria great.

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE
