On March 15, 2020 a pipeline explosion which occured at Abule Ado near Trade fair complex on the Lagos-Badagry highway claim the life of a family of four and 11 others. The 15 corpses has been recovered from the scene.


Less than 60 students of Bethlehem Girls College located within the area, sustained various degree of injuries in the incident and are rushed to Nigerian Navy Hospital in Ojo cantonment.

The acting coordinator of NEMA in Lagos, Mr Ibrahim Farinloye, told the News Agency of Nigeria that a couple and their two sons were caught in the explosion on their way to church around 9am on Sunday.



He also added that over 50 buildings, including Bethlehem Girls College and a popular hotel, were damaged in the pipeline explosion.

The fire was eventually extinguished around 3:30pm through the combined effort of the officials from the Lagos State Fire Agency, Federal Fire Service, Nigeria Navy Fire Tender.

The sound of the explosion could be heard around Oshodi, Agege, Ikeja, Ayobo, Ipaja, Iyana ipaja and some part around On state.
